Mid-Facelift Surgery Dallas

If your cheeks are beginning to sag, creating hollows under your eyes and causing deep folds around your mouth (known as nasolabial folds), you may feel you look tired and worn all the time. This may be increased by low-hanging brows and shadows under the eyes that give the appearance of dark bags. If you are unhappy with these symptoms of facial aging, you may be a good candidate for a mid-face lift. A Dallas mid-facelift can restore your cheeks to their natural, youthful position, banish hollowness under the eyes, and increase the openness of your eyes by elevating sagging brows.

This page describes a procedure that is good for correcting the facial aging of many people, but it cannot give you detailed personalized recommendations. If you want to learn whether a mid-face lift is right for you, please contact Dr. Vasdev Rai at the Cosmetic Surgical Center today to schedule your consultation.

What a Dallas Mid-Facelift Targets

As its name implies, a Dallas mid-facelift is a facelift procedure that targets the effects of aging on the middle third of the face, between the mouth and the brow. This procedure can reduce the appearance of:

  • Dark hollows under the eye
  • Sunken cheeks
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Minor jowls
  • Hanging brows

When these are due to the displacement of the tissue of the cheek due to gravity and tissue changes. It is also often combined with a blepharoplasty. If the lack of definition in your cheek region is due not to sagging of facial tissues, but to poorly defined cheekbones, you may get better results from facial implants. If you have jowls that sag significantly and impair the definition of your jaw line and chin, then you may get better results from a facelift and neck lift.

Mid-Facelift vs. Facial Fillers

Facial fillers are a nonsurgical treatment commonly used to address hollowness under the eyes and to correct the appearance of nasolabial folds. For many people, facial fillers are attractive because they are inexpensive and require no down-time. However, if you are truly looking for a solution to these problems, it is important to remember that while facial fillers may give good results for six months or a year at most, the results of a mid-face lift can last for a decade or more. And while the fillers may correct some symptoms of aging, they do not correct the same range of symptoms, and as the cheek tissues continue to sag, your symptoms may become worse.

This is not to say that injectable fillers are not a good treatment. Some people get very good results from a facelift with injectables.
